How much space does a home heat pump need?

What makes an outdoor position workable?

The unit needs manufacturer clearances, airflow, drainage, service access and a stable base. The designer must also consider noise at neighbouring properties, pipe length and local planning rules. A small garden or flat is not automatically excluded, but options can be more constrained.

Is a hot-water cylinder always required?

Many air-to-water systems store domestic hot water in a cylinder, so the survey should measure available space and pipe routes. Existing cylinders are not automatically suitable.
